My younger days
This is me on my ninth birthday. I am showing off my new birthday outfit and the Breyer classic Swaps, which was one of my gifts that year.
As the Breyer company released smaller horses, I started receiving smaller horses as gifts instead of the traditional sized ones (they were cheaper - hey, my parents were smart!) I used to save up my allowance and any money I got to buy the traditional-sized ones, as well as the much smaller stablemates.
I still collect lots of the old mold, old plastic stablemates, and I treasure my old classic-scale horses. I still collect a few traditional-sized models, but I now appreciate the value of a spacious home, so I limit myself to just a few and try to compensate when I add to my collection by trading, selling or giving away some so that I don't become overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of them.
