Shipshewana
Kathleen found these shelves full of horsies at the Stone factory in Shipshewana during Mayfest this year.
Kathleen reports that she was able to bring home many rare and beautiful Stone horses to add to her collection. She was one of the first ones in line at the sale, and was able to pick out what she liked.
Last July, the Stones had a similar sale down in Kentucky, and I was able to buy a few inexpensive "scratch and dent" or overstock models for my collection. It was fun! I couldn't afford any of the true test colors, but when I got back to the hotel room, I found that two of the OFs that I had picked out were actually labelled "factory test," which probably meant that they had been used as guides for the painters at the factory (they were identical to their regular run counterparts.)
Kathleen was actually able to add a few test colors to her collection at the Shipshewana sale. (She always did have a bigger budget than I did!!!) She reports especially liking a buckskin Pebbles model and a green Performance Horse.
