Julips visit Breyerfest in Kentucky

breyerfest 005 jesica and mel breyerfest pool.jpg

I met a friend down in Indiana when we both attended the model horse convention, Breyerfest. (Mel is the skinny one!) Her husband, Victor, took the photo of us by the pool along with our Julips.

I figure that this will probably be my last Breyerfest, at least for awhile. The economy is terrible, and we might lose our house, but, by god, I had a vacation!
I needed a vacation because the previous weekend I had been a bridesmaid at the wedding of Bridezilla. I don't drink, and I had four glasses of champagne that night. The bride called me the following day and told me that her uncle had called her a (insert word for female dog here.) She wanted to know whether it had been true!
Anyway, I needed a vacation! So I went down to Kentucky, stayed in a cheap hotel, and enjoyed meeting with friends.
Mel and I are the only American Julip collectors that I know of. I'm sure that there are others, but I don't know them personally and I've never heard of them being mentioned. The only other Julip collectors in America I know of are transplanted Brits.
So Mel and I brought our Julips down to Kentucky. I brought five of my Julips along. (Arien the AC, Isabeau the Farm Cob, Navarre the Clydesdale foal, Gremlin 2 the Pit Pony, and Ranger the Cob Stallion.) The other two Julips (Bob the Cob and a chestnut Family Horse) belong to Mel.
Mel painted Farm Cobs on our hats so that we could pose for photos with them, but you can't see the paintings in this photo.
