Katherine Hepburn
A Tribute to Katherine Hepburn
I first saw Katherine Hepburn on tv as a child. I was too young to have known of her from her earlier films, but after school one day a channel was showing "Rooster Cogburn," and I sat down to watch because it had horses in it.
Well, when I saw her role in that film, I said to myself, "When I get that old, I want to be just like her character in the film!!" I have gotten a lot older since then, and every once in awhile I think I am becoming more Hepburn-like with age!
I have enjoyed her acting skills in several movies, my favourites being "The African Queen" and "Adam's Rib," as well as "Rooster Cogburn!"
I have read her autobiography, it seems she was quite a character in real life. Well, she was a huge spirit who influenced many people, and who was a role model for many women. I am grateful for having seen some of her work.

Julip shetland pony

The latest edition to the herd of Julip horses.
This is a 1970's Julip Shetland Pony with an old-style child rider. She has such a sweet expression! Fortunately, I have a stable for the pony, and a doll house for the child to live in, and Julip doll parents who have been childless for a long time and who wish to adopt her!

Yearns

Contained in Essense
Can the sacred be contained? As that which is unknowable, might it be limitless and unbounded? That which is unbounded is beyond the range of vision. If it were to be contained in essense, this is how it might appear.
this particular contained essense is by guggi

Men-an-tol

Sacred stones in Cornwall
The Men-an-tol (Cornish for "holed stone") is one of the sacred sites of Cornwall. Passing through the stone three times widdershins is said to cure almost any illness or disease. It is situated on a lonely moor, within sight of another stone circle. There are many stone circles and megaliths, as well as burial mounds and ancient Celtic crosses, all over Cornwall.
Holed stones have long been known by the Celts to have special healing powers. They represent a doorway between possibilities, between what was and what can be coming, between the spirit realm and the realm of our consciousness. My grandmother, whose parents were of Irish and Scottish ancestry, used to guard carefully any holed stone that she found. When I was a small child, she told me that these stones were "special" and I should keep an eye out for them. I remember her every time I see a holy holed stone.

Sirius Risen

Sirius has passed beyond the veil, and those who lift the veil to see the face of the Goddess have passed beyond the bounds of mortal men.
As a psychopomp, though, Sirius now aids us when we travel that road ourselves. Fear naught, for all faithful dogs of the Goddess, when fallen into her vessel of honey, shall be reborn as the shining star in heaven falls and then rises in a new season. Her guardians are forever.
The photo shows a detail from the Gundestrop Cauldron. A larger figure (representing a priest or deity) is plunging a man into the Goddess' Cauldron of Regeneration, while Her faithful hound waits to escort the soul to Summerland.

Legend of Arslan

Heroic Legend of Arslan is one of my favourite anime. I really enjoy the well-crafted and beautiful animation of the first episode, and the story and excellent characterization.
The finished episodes were released on VHS, and later as a DVD. My two favourite characters are Dariun and Narsus. When not snarking at each other (entertaining in and of itself), they make a fine swordfighting team. Narsus is an artist, and a fine acrobat, as well. While Narsus plays with words, Dariun impatiently jumps to the point. They both are adept at the use of a sword.
Their goal is to put Arslan on the throne. Arslan has believed himself the blood son of the King, but is he truly? And if he isn't, why are Narsus and Dariun trying so hard to bring about his rise to the throne? Narsus' motive would appear to be the post of Imperial Artist, which Arslan has promised to bestow upon him. Dariun would like to be reinstated as a general of the Imperial Army...they're both a bit vain...and they both believe that the Empire would be better off with Arslan as King than if the true heir were on the throne.
(Narsus is on the left, Arslan in the middle, Dariun on the right.)

Found in Cornwall
Also on our Cornwall visit...
Just kidding. We never found Hogwarts in Cornwall, although I'm sure several students and alumni from that prestigious school do live there. (In fact, I think we met a few of them...)
Our hometown is holding a Potter Festival tonight to celebrate the release of the fifth book in the series! There will be a scavenger hunt, a costume contest, a raffle of a Potter quilt, and loads of fun for everyone!
I might even be able to document this event with my new digital camera!!! Stay tuned for a followup report!

Clowance Coach House
The Coach House at Clowance Estate was our home away from home!
We were very pleased to spend one week in the beautiful Clowance Coach House. Allowed to fall into ruin over the years, the coach house was recently rebuilt to resemble the original exterior as much as possible. The interior has been redesigned into apartments of various sizes. It is located in a beautiful setting, with french doors opening onto a cobblestone courtyard overlooking a small lake. The stone horse watering trough still sits in the courtyard.

Visit to Cornwall
The Merry Maidens stone circle near Penzance in Cornwall.
This was the only stone circle that we were able to visit, unfortunately. The circle is situated in the middle of a farmer's field, and one has to climb over the fence to gain entry. Fortunately, there were handy stepping stones near the gatepost that helped us climb over. A feeling of tranquility surrounds the site. The wind is very strong, here. The weather was chilly and damp enough for a raincoat, but the stones were warm to the touch.

Malfoys-Lizard People?

Lucius and Draco Malfoy...the Lizard Men?
In my research into the reptilian space alien conspiracy, I have uncovered a few facts relating to the reptilian/human genetic hybrids. They were said to be very pale, with white/blond hair, and had been genetically programmed by the reptilian space aliens (oh, about several thousand years ago) to take over the Known World. And they aren't fully human, because they have reptilian blood!!! Ooooh, scary!
And I didn't believe it until I realized that there was no other possible explanation for the dastardly deeds of this duo, the Malfoys. Can't you just see the Lizard bloodline showing through on this pair? I mean, come on - even the name "Draco" practically comes right out and screams, "I am a Reptile!"
Obviously, Harry Potter is the Chosen One who has come to save the world from the attack of these fiendish and foul fellows of the Dark Arts!
My big question is, when those draconian geneticists were creating their reptilian/human hybrids, why did they have to make them so darn attractive???

Julip horse

Julip cob mare in chestnut with old-style Julip male rider.
This is "Rosemund," another cob mare from Julip. She was my first cob mare. She probably dates from somewhere in the late 1970's. Her constant companion is "Clive," an old-style male Julip rider.
