Julip Christmas Celebration

julip christmas.jpg

Here are some of my Julip horses celebrating Christmas in their stable.

Shown are Zephyr the hunter, Firefly the foal, Whisper (in the left stall), Privateer (in the right stall), and Noddy the Welsh Cob. They are all very recent Julip Originals. Their stable dates from the late 1980's.
They got a bit carried away with the light-up yard ornaments!
Because the room where the stable is located gets a bit warm this time of year with the central heating, my fragile, older Julips have been evacuated to safer quarters for the winter (the top of my dresser!)

An International Event!

amandasjulips.jpg

Some of the Julips from from my friend Amanda's Havillands Stable in the U.K. wave at Rosemund via the magic of the internet!

Amanda has one of the greatest Julip Stables ever, and she is extremely talented at restoring some of the more severely damaged Julip Originals. She has an excellent website devoted to Julips. I don't remember how to turn this into a link, but the address is www.havillands.demon.co.uk (check out the Havillands comic, too!)
Havillands has a connection with my Julip Stable in that my Whisper's foal, Lucky, appears to have been sired by Amanda's stallion, Fitzwood (a very flea-bitten grey in the left of the photo!) Lucky is a real chip off the old block!
I am having the most fun with my Julips, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun without Amanda to share emails, photos and model horse happiness!

Rosemund, my first very old Julip!

ebayjulip.jpg

Rosemund has the most beautiful eyes of all of my Julip herd!

I am going through old photos on my hard drive, and I found this one of Rosemund and Clive when they were on eBay, which is where I purchased them. The seller could tell me nothing about them, except that they had been purchased at an estate sale. Rosemund was my third Julip, and she has added to my love for these unique model horses. She is one of my very favourites! She is quite old now, but still serves admirably as a school horse in my Julip stable. Clive is her constant companion. Recently, Clive achieved a lifelong dream of owning a Julip Hunter, but Rosemund will always be his first and favourite horse.

Magpie Hunter

magpie.jpg

This is my very first Magpie model, a black hunter that I bought secondhand from someone named Miranda. I named her Mystery, and she came with a surprise Magpie foal that I named Enigma.

I am very fond of Magpies even though they have atrocious conformation! I now have four Magpies because my friend Amanda sent me a beautiful Magpie Arab and Welsh pony - thank you very much! I really appreciate them. Hopefully, I will get pictures of them all next to their stable, which is being decorated for the Christmas holidays.
The Julip holiday stable is coming along very well, and is due to be photographed soon! (It's a good thing I started on it before I became the amazing "Barf-o-matic," as Brian calls me!)
