Bed Rest

My doctor has prescribed bed rest until I deliver the baby sometime this month!

It can be terribly boring, but I have lots of books and some movies to watch. Sometimes I shuffle around outside when I have to take the dogs out. That's my exciting life for the past week or so!
There are some nifty Julips on eBay, it is very tempting to bid on them. However, duty and financial responsibility weigh heavily!! Probably, the little horsies will end up in someone else's stable! I am very happy with my herd of Julips, though. They are keeping me company here at home while I wait for the baby's arrival!

My brother's wedding

bucks.jpg

Here are some of our relatives at the wedding last Saturday. We all had a great time! (Thanks to the Nance for the photo.)

I made it through the wedding and the reception, which were both lovely. There was plenty of food and the deejay was the same fellow who had deejayed our reception. Brian and I got to dance to "our song" once again! I couldn't dance much because of how close to my due date I am.
Don and Amy are now off in Hawaii on their honeymoon! (They are so cute together!)
Hopefully, I'll have more photos soon.

Kathleen's Bunny Friend

kathleensbunny.jpg

Kathleen sent this photo of a wild bunny that she befriended.

We have bunnies just like this in our garden. Kathleen says hers is almost tame. She feeds it oats. Recently, she saw one of its babies!
Thanks to Kathleen for this very cute photo!

I'm becoming my mother!

I had an experience today which affirmed that I am indeed turning into my mother!

I remember how it used to make Mom's day if a premium that she had sent for arrived in the mail! One that I remember especially well was the tiny Revere ware measuring cup that looked exactly like the big Revere pots, copper-clad bottom and all! It was FREE with proofs-of-purchase from some sort of foodstuff, and Mom gleefully collected box tops until she had enough to send for one.
I still have this tiny Revere measuring cup, and every time I use it to melt butter for popcorn, I think of Mom!
Well, recently, I had a bunch of apples that I had purchased and I decided to make a pie with them. I went to the store for a pie crust (I'm not a masochist, I'll leave the crust-making to Pillsbury, thank you!) On the Pillsbury box was an offer for an Oneida dessert-server, FREE! I felt the spirit of my mother overtake me at that moment, and I sent for the item after I had used the pie crust.
Well, today it arrived, gleaming and new in its plastic wrapper (complete with offers to purchase more silverware at "low, low prices.")
I stood there silently, staring at my new prize, and thinking about how spiffy it would look serving a nice chocolate cream pie. Then, I did as much of a happy dance as my nine-months-pregnant body would allow!
I have indeed come closer to becoming my mother!

Amanda's Show Jumper!

kingfisher.jpg

Kingfisher did very well at a recent live show in England. He and rider Rodney won second place!

Amanda should be very proud, as she makes all of her own tack and she created the very impressive rider, too! It sure looks spiffy on the lovely dapple-grey Kingfisher!
Thanks for sharing this photo with us, Amanda!
It makes me want to pack up my model horsies and get to the nearest show, myself. I might have to wait until next year, as the next show before I give birth is on the day of my brother's wedding!
