Dinah Goes Riding

Kathleen sent this photo of her Dawn doll, Dinah, riding the new Breyer Andalusian mold. Pretty spiffy, eh?
As anyone who's ever played with Dawn dolls knows, they don't ride Breyers very well...Kathleen had to use creative photography to ensure that we didn't see the off side of the model!!
Kathleen had a great time at Breyerfest, and got tons and tons of model horses at bargain prices...including two H-Rs that she said she found while "antiquing" on the way home. Boy, am I jealous!!! I can't wait until next year!
However, baby Derek is worth the sacrifice that I had to make by staying home from Kentucky this year. Derek is cuddlier than any model horse!!! He's such a good baby, too. He had his first vaccinations today, and was very brave.

World's Cutest Baby

They don't get any cuter than this!!!
Ryan and Danielle went with us to Milford Memories, and they took this photo. I think it's unbelievably cute!
Well, I am off to feed the baby...all you guys get is this photo, but I get the real thing!!!

Notes on being a Mom

Here is a newer photo of Mom, Dad and baby Derek!
One of Jessica's Laws of Motherhood: The cuter Mom thinks the little baby outfit is, the more likely it is to be continually soiled from diaper leakage.
There is one little outfit that I bought for Derek before he was born. It has a cute little frog on it. Every single time he wears this outfit (I should say, "tries it on") he urinates all over it within minutes. I can never find any leak in the diaper, and usually it's a brand new, clean diaper. After about the sixth time this happened, I retired the little froggie outfit.
He has another outfit that I call the "Spaceman Spiff" outfit. It has adorable little spacemen, planets and rocket ships all over it. Unfortunately, the background color is white. This is another indication of a doomed outfit. Derek seems to take it as a personal challenge whenever he wears a white outfit! White outfits should be banned for anyone under the age of toilet training!
In the photo, I am holding up a sleeper which my sister brought back for Derek from Harrods in London...notice the white color! Derek will love it for sure! (Right now, it's a bit too large for him, but he'll grow into it!)

Latest Show Results!

Amanda's Peter Stone jumper, Kingfisher, recently won this nifty rosette at a live show in England!
Kingfisher is heading to another show soon! Thanks very much to Amanda for sending the photo and best of luck at the next show! He's a great horse for showing, looks very spiffy under saddle and in hand, too!
I have not been able to show this summer due to baby Derek's birth, but I hope to at least visit a show later this summer.
Kathleen sent a Breyerfest report (much abbrieviated, as she was very tired from her trip home.) She said she had a blast, but didn't shop much. She just stayed in the hotel room and sold model horses most of the time. She did get some horses at the Stone sale early in the weekend, though.
