Julip Running Hound
This hound's name is Max, he is a really large hound, so big that the Julip riders jokingly call him "The Hound of the Baskervilles." If foxhounds were this large in real life, they'd be the size of an Irish Wolfhound!

Derek can climb on the jungle gym!
He can play on almost all of the playground equipment by himself, last year I had to help him out quite a bit.

And he can go down the slide!
This is Derek's favorite slide at the park!

Derek at the Park
He can now ride these toys all by himself, last year he was a bit too small to get on them unless I helped.

Derek's First Sand Castle!
Derek made a sand castle at the park a few days ago. A nice young girl showed him how to do it, she was making castles and Derek wanted to give it a try. See next photo for the result!

Here is Derek's Sand Castle!
Isn't it grand? He is quite an architect! (It's that pile of dirt in front of his shoe-he used the blue castle mold you can see in the photo.)

Derek and his tricycle!
Derek has a spiffy red tricycle, he has been riding it almost daily!

Derek can ride a tricycle!
He can pedal it now, before he was just sitting on it and using his feet to shuffle it along the ground Flintstones style. I was very proud to see him use the pedals for the first time. Yesterday, the day care had a bike day, and Derek got to ride his tricycle in the parking lot and around the block! At home, he rides on the sidewalk in front of our house, as our driveway isn't paved.

Maeve, an unknown Julip pony mold
Maeve(and Lionheart)both date from the 1960's. Although we do not know the actual name of Maeve's mold, some collectors speculate that this is the Icelandic Pony.
She has a piece of black electrical tape on one of her hind legs, as the latex was gummy in that area and I wanted to prevent it from sticking to anything. Usually, the only remedy for "Julip gummy latex disease" is amputation of the affected part. Then, the part is rebuilt with an epoxy material. I didn't want to try this, but I like Maeve and didn't want to send her away. So far, the electrical tape appears to be working, the gumminess hasn't gotten any worse.

Lionheart the Julip Show Hunter
This is the regal(and somewhat clumsy)Lionheart. He's an extrovert, and enjoys being the center of attention. He's also extremely friendly, and wouldn't hurt a fly. He enjoys entering local shows (truth be told, he isn't a very good jumper, but he is safe)and teaching kids how to jump.
His worst fault is he tends to accidentally step on people's toes!

Tintagel and foal Gwendolyn
This is the lovely Julip Arab Champion Tintagel and her filly, Gwendolyn, who recently came to live with me via eBay. In the 2003 Julip catalog, they were called Dizzy and Moppet. They date from either 1999 or 2003 as they were featured a couple of times in the catalog.

Derek at the campsite!
We went camping a couple of weeks ago, and I took this photo of Derek at the campsite. During our camping trip, Derek got to play outdoors, go fishing (he caught his first fish!), participate in geo-caching, and lots of other fun activities!

Kiowa the Magpie
I traded model horses with a friend over in England named India. She sent me this lovely Magpie appaloosa-colored model and I sent her a couple of Hartlands. This model's name is Kiowa.

Julip Kai arrives!
Julip made a custom version of my own horse, Kai! Julip Kai was a special order and he arrived at my stable a couple of weeks ago. That's Julip Jessica on the left (it looks like me except with two braids instead of one, and it's blond, but my hair was blond when I got this doll, so that's okay.)

A Model Citizen
This is Huseyin Parlak, who has been deported from the United States for absolutely no reason at all. He sought political asylum in the U.S. and has been living here as a model citizen. His story is very sad, and you can read it through the links my sister sent me (copy and paste them into your browser.) She is a friend of the Parlak family and has been working in their restaurant.

Huseyin and his brother Ibrahim deserve to be United States citizens. They have never committed any crime nor have they belonged to any terrorist organizations or front groups. They just operate a restaurant in Michigan and happen to be of an ethnic group (Kurdish) that suffers greatly under the government of their native Turkey. It is not safe for them to live in Turkey.

A Pirate's Life For Me!

I made this crazy avatar in Photobucket! it doesn't exactly look like me (they didn't have an option to add fatness)but it's as close as I could come. I'll have to see if they have glasses for my avatar next time I'm in my Photobucket account.
I set my dorky self in a Ren Fest. Looks like I met a friend while I was there! :)

Historic County Courthouse

This is the historic county courthouse, we live just a few blocks away from it so we walk there often. When I took this photo, we were sitting at the Dairy Queen having some ice cream. Yummy!

New Julip Lipizzan
![]()
This is the new Julip Lipizzan mold in a very pretty color. I just love the head on this mold, it's very typey.
I was thrilled to be able to order this special which was listed on the Julip site a few weeks ago. It was a very special treat. I call him Carnivale.
The mold has a really short back, but it's so nice otherwise that I really don't mind.

New Julip arrivals, Tintagel and Gwendolyn
Baby Gwendolyn and her Mum Tintagel are among the latest arrivals at the farm. Daisy the groom came along to help care for them at their new stable.
I had wanted to purchase this Julip duo several years ago, when they were in the catalog, but due to the cost I was unable to do so at the time. I was thrilled to find them on eBay recently, though. Tintagel is one of my favorite molds in one of my favorite colors, too-dapple grey. (You can't see it in this photo, as she's wearing her rug.)
Better pictures will come soon!
