Health Care Problems in the United States
I haven't seen the new Michael Moore movie, "Sicko," yet, although I'd like to. I have long felt that the system of health care in the United States has many problems.
I have grossly simplified things, but read on to find out what sort of health care reforms I'd like the presidential candidates to focus on.
1. Every citizen should have health care. The same health care should be available to everybody, rich or poor.
I vote for universal health care coverage, exactly like the systems in place in the U.K., France and Canada.
2. Again, everybody should have coverage, and the coverage should NOT be employer-based, but should stay the same regardless of where the person works.
Again, I vote for universal health care coverage, exactly like the systems in the U.K., Canada and France.
To be a health care system I would vote for, it has to have the following characteristics: Everybody has the coverage, nobody goes bankrupt paying for medical care.
The way our system is set up now is terrible. Drug companies and insurance companies give payola to politicians to serve their interests instead of the people's interests. Millions of working people don't have coverage. Other people go bankrupt paying medical bills.
It's time to get with the program that most advanced western nations follow: full national health coverage.

Tonks (Harry Potter book released tonight!)
Did anyone else notice that Tonks wasn't her usual self in the last book (Half-Blood Prince?)
I have just been re-reading the Half-Blood Prince, and I'm not at the end of the book, yet, so I may have missed something. But...
I noticed that Tonks suddenly couldn't change her appearance anymore, her personality was vastly different to what it had been and that her Patronus had changed shape.
My theory is that it isn't the real Tonks, it's somebody masquerading as Tonks through the use of Polyjuice Potion.
I have no idea who or for what purpose. But that's my theory.

Here are two custom Magpie models: a smutty palomino Hunter by Manda, and a flea-bitten grey Arab by Laura. Thanks to Laura for sending them to me!

Julip Cob Stallion, off side
Here is the off side of the Julip Piebald Cob Stallion.
The actual pattern is very nice and quite realistic, just very sloppily painted.

Front View, Julip Cob Stallion
You can't tell from the photo, but the blaze is extremely sloppily painted, it looks as though she wasn't sure she wanted a blaze there so she just smeared some black paint over part of it.

Julip Piebald Cob Stallion
This is a Julip Piebald Cob Stallion. I ordered him from a seller on eBay. He is part of a new range of designer Julips.
I haven't liked much of this seller's output (she is a painter at the Julip company) but I thought I'd give her the benefit of the doubt. I won't be ordering from her again, as the horse looks fine in photographs, but in person you can see he's very sloppily painted. The seller also charged excessive shipping and handling fees. I was able to receive a partial refund when I politely pointed that out to her, but I don't like being taken advantage of.
I can order Julips direct from the company and have them shipped to me at less than half the shipping charge, plus they are better quality models and more inexpensive to boot!

Peter Stone test color dapple grey Performance Horse.
This was a raffle prize from the Stone events in Lexington the year they were at Fasig-Tipton. Maybe 2001 or 2002? He is the roached mane version. He is for sale. He is actually a dark, metallic dapple, extremely similar to the special run model Arabian "H and H Silver Sultan" from that same year. He looks a lot lighter in the photo than he actually is. He has a thin, stencilled blaze.
