Smallish house meets Godzilla stuff

Brian was so enthusiastic about this new house in Kentucky. He said the landlord told him it was "almost" 2000 square feet. Well, our Michigan house is just over 2000 square feet, and this house doesn't come close.

For one thing, there is next to no storage space at all, here. The closets are super-small. In 1927, people didn't have as much "stuff." They lived a simpler life.
We had a large garage sale before we left. We sold or donated about one quarter of our furniture and tons of other stuff. We filled a huge garbage dumpster with garbage.
We took loads of the stuff out of the house and moved it to a storage unit in order to make the house look better during showings. So the moving company only moved the things that were left in the house. All of the stuff from the storage unit was left behind.
We didn't have enough room in the house for the stuff the movers brought, and so when Brian brought all of the stuff from the storage unit, we were in deep trouble.
Plus, the basement drain backed up, so we couldn't store anything down there. It's about a third the size of our old basement, but we can't even use it.
Big sigh.
